FORMER STATE DELEGATE ROBERT MCKEE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION
OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Baltimore, Maryland - A criminal information was filed today charging
Robert Alan McKee, age 59, of Hagerstown, with possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney for the District
of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. McKee, a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since 1994, resigned from office earlier
this year.
According to the information, on January 31, 2008, Mr. McKee possessed
material containing images documenting the sexual abuse of children, which had been transported by computer.
McKee faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, followed by
supervised release for life, and a fine of $250,000 for possession of child pornography. No court appearance has been scheduled.
A criminal information is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged
by criminal information is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Federal Bureau
of Investigation, Washington County Sheriff Douglas W. Mullendore and Washington County State's Attorney Charles P. Strong,
Jr. , and their offices, for their work in this investigation and prosecution. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States
Attorney Bonnie S. Greenberg, who is prosecuting the case.
