Boy Saves Sister from Kidnapper

The brother intervened just as the suspect put the girl inside his trunk.

MONTEBELLO - The brother of an 11-year-old girl is being credited with helping fight off his sister's kidnapper.
The girl was walking home in northern
Montebello about 3 p.m. Monday when the man pulled up in an older four-door compact car and tried to kidnap her, officials said.
The suspect put a plastic zip tie around her neck, opened the trunk and then tried to put her inside, said Sgt. Javier Ornelas of the Montebello Police Department.
Luckily, the girl's 13-year-old brother and his friend were nearby and heard the commotion.
"Suddenly my sister screamed, 'Help,' and then we looked up and saw a big man grab my sister and carrying her and putting her in the trunk. So, me and my friend were like running to help her and then I went around and I hit the guy behind the neck," Harvey Carrasco told KTLA.
The girl was using her feet to try and fight off her attacker, he said.
The boys managed to pull the girl out of the trunk before the attacker drove away.
The suspect was described as an Hispanic man in his late 30s, 5-foot-10 and either unshaven or sporting a slight beard, the sergeant said. His attire included a baseball cap and blue short-sleeve shirt.
Witness Jeremy Salcido told KTLA that when the zip tie was taken off, the girl's neck was red and bleeding.
Carrasco says he's just happy his sister is safe.

It make me so happy this young man acted so quickly saving his sister it could have gone real bad real fast, He is the hero for his family and the community we fight to get these people lying in wait for  children. So we know the implications had that man been able to take his sister to another location both his sister and he acted in a great manner it saved her life. I wish ever parent would read this and instruct their children accordingly. The girl fought, yelled and kept her lags from being kept inside the trunk. The Brother 7 Friend or a stranger should act accordingly when a child cries out investigate and be made sure this man is their parent write down the license plate, a visual description of him and the vehicle. And most importantly if you have a question in your mind call the police immediately, I can speak for them, in that, they, I know, would rather be called on to investigate rather then, after the fact on an abduction, make them know it could be an abductor,  when the result is the man was an abductor you could have save that child life as the young man did.
I can't stress enough, like the mother said we are not going to allow men to take our children, it has been a long, long time we have cried the same. We need to unite to get these people where they belong, off our streets. Period.
